Integrated Reception System [IRS]
IRS have now become the most commonly used communal TV systems. This system uses one main satellite dish and aerial array to serve multiple TV points. An IRS system provides each TV point with the facility to access Sky, Sky+, SkyHD, Freesat, Freesat+, FreesatHD, Freeview, FreeviewHD, DAB and FM Radio. IRS systems are ideal for apartment complexes, individual apartment blocks, and housing estates. And due to the rise in demand for access to television services within the office environment, they are becoming the system of choice for commercial properties too.
Master Antenna Television System [MATV]
The MATV system is the predecessor of the IRS system. It consists of one aerial array supplying multiple TV points. es It enables each TV point to access the available terrestrial television broadcasts, such as Freeview, FreeviewHD, DAB and FM Radio. These systems have, more often than not, been replaced in most residential properties. This is due to the increased demand for access to satellite services in recent years, but they are still the main system of choice for schools, universities, hospitals, carehomes and student accommodation.
Fibre Optic IRS
A fibre optic IRS system provides all that a standard IRS system does, but is more versatile and cost effective when very large systems are required, or when long cable runs are involved.
